So after getting most of my new stuff hooked up Sat. night I am flipping through the channels and get to the UND hockey game with about 1min. left in the 2nd period, UND is up 3-1 and it is in a UND power play but the period ends with no big whoop until the players start leaving the ice for 2nd intermission and all hell breaks loose, about 5-7 players from Denver if I remember the opponent right were ganging up on about 2-3 UND players and a bunch of UND players tried running back onto the ice to even things up a bit. The best part was when 1 UND player squared off with one of their guys and pulled the old classic of the jersey over the head, but the guy did manage to pop his head back out only to be given a modified hip toss onto the ice where the UND player landed on him and proceeded to ground (ice?) and pound him for about a week and a half. The 3rd period was then a mostly uneventful kind of grind it out period till about the last 2 - 3 minutes when UND took a penalty and would be a man down PLUS they pulled their goalie so it was 6 on 4. The score was still 3-1 UND when TJ Oshie stole the puck and slapped the puck in the direction of the empty net and it slid in to make it 4-1 and that meant it was pretty much all over except the crying (for them!) It's nice to see some good old fisticuffs in hockey game, especially when the players are passionate still and not just there to collect a paycheck.
