Well at least there was a cash game! « Thread Started on Sept 2, 2007, 8:11pm »
So I sucked ass in the tourney again, tried playing tight and that just doesn't work for me, had pocket 9's and raised 4x the BB got 1 caller, flop came J high pushed, slow to call, turn was a brick pushed again, they went in the tank for about 10 minutes then called, river another nothing card, and I thought maybe they have a J but with a real weak kicker and figured the only way I could win was to push, so I fired one last salvo and after a few minutes a call and they had KJ offsuit, I was down to about 2800 in chips, later on I had A4 offsuit got to see the flop for cheap and the flop gave me middle pair with a straight draw, I hit my straight on the river and pushed all in and was insta-called by Ivan the terrible who rivered a flush. The board was all the way at the other end of the table so I hadn't even notice the river that gave me the straight put out a 3rd club! But as much as I would have liked to go deep in the tourney, I decided no more Mr. tight guy in the cash game, I opened up and was able to get some nice situations. I had K2 suited and limped in. The board came 2-2-T I flopped a set, and Dwayne bet into me and as it was a rainbow flop, I just called. The turn put the case deuce on the board (dececatcher ringing a bell now?) I again just called Dwaynes push, the river well who cares I had quads! I pushed back and Dwayne paid me off. Several other nice hands including when I had pocket Jacks and I took out Bill B. I am sure he will claim I sucked out but of course didn't show his cards. So anyway I bought in for $50 and cashed out $227, so even if you factor in my $30 for the tourney I was still up almost $150 for the night! I'll take it! Would like some points to go with it, but whatchya gonna do?

Yes the cash game has still been doing pretty good by me lately. This last Friday I bought in for $50 and cashed out $194, last week I finished up about $90 for the night and two weeks ago I ended up in pretty deep but came out ok, when early on I had built my $50 buy in up to around $75 when I picked up rockets. I made a big raise $5 and got like 2 or 3 callers. the flop came J-2-2 so nothing to wory about unless someone smoot called with pocket jacks. I push $10 at the pot and now only get one caller. The turn is 9 and the board is a complete rainbow so I am not worried about anything and fire $15 at the pot, the other guy goes all in and flips over K-2 offsuit. So I was dead to an ace and of course it didn't come. Since I had made such a big raise pre-flop I really wasn't expecting those type of hands to be in it to the flop, I thought he probably had AJ or he might even have Q's or K's and wasn't scared of the Jack. So any way that was my first $50 gone in about 45 minutes, bought in for another $50 that lasted a few hours and as there was about an hour and a half before the game shut down I figured I would buy in one last time for only $25 though. It was a good thing I did, I cashed out $132 so I went from being down $125 to up $7, not that being up $7 is spectacular, but its MUCH better than being down $125. I think I should start playing more cash games.
